Dr Anita Weiss – professor at the University of Oregon speaks about her association with Pakistan. She visited Pakistan first time in January 1978 to learn urdu. Since then she has been visiting Pakistan frequently and have travelled to all parts of Pakistan – including various far flung areas – in order to understand what steps have people taken to curb violence and terrorism.
Anita’s eighth book is called ‘Countering violent extremism in Pakistan: local action, local voices’. In this book she has documented her experiences in Pakistan.
